Performance of domestic solar heating system with thermal storage using phase change materials
  • Abstract
  • Keywords
  • Reference
  • Full Article
This present study discussed the concept of storing thermal energy by adding variable phase change materials that can help to maintain and increase energy efficiency. It can also help in maintaining the level of temperature in the hot water storage at a certain point and when it is unloading the stored energy. In this study PCMs with solid-solid and solid-liquid phase transition are discussed. Selection criterion for the chosen PCM is presented. Paraffin wax can be used for domestic solar heating systems for its appropriate thermal characteristic. The steps of volume calculation to maintain the thermal storage at a certain temperature have involved in this research, to give better understanding the design of PCMs thermal storage. Furthermore, a Fortran code has been created and attached here, in order to study the thermal performance of PCMs thermal storage. The obtained results show that increasing the volume of the PCMs in the storage leads to an increase the interval of the isothermal operation of the storage and increasing the charge and discharge time period.

Hydrogen generation from magnesium alloys: offering a second life to waste and preparing the industrialization of the process
  • Abstract

  • Full Article
Hydrogen can be produced by hydrolysis of non recycle Mg alloys. It appears as a good solution for clean energy production. Nevertheless, before thinking about an industrialization of the process, several points should be clarified. We demontrsate here thatthe role of zinc is not as negligible as often status because of the formation of the solid solution Mg0.97Zn0.03 that is not favourable for hydrolysis. The presence in the alloy of the intermetallic Mg17Al12 is beneficial because of the establishment of a galvanic coupling. Also, using very fine chips is not favourable for hydrolysis because of the formation of an oxide layer on the surface. Using larger chips (0.6 mm thick) is better from hydrolysis point of view but also looking at the cost of machining the bulk alloys. Several mill apparatus are tested and it is shown that the milling mode is not the driving force but only the total input energy is. Milling at low temperature is not beneficial as the ductile to brittle transition is not reached under liquid nitrogen. A minimum of 5wt% of nickel must be added to the alloys to get the best hydrolysis properties. Finally, the ball milling can be done under nitrogen in replacement of expensive argon but also under air (with a very little decrease of the hydrolysis performances) if the milling is performed in close vial.

  • Abstract

In 1990 , Malghan et al. have defined and studied the concepts of almost p-regular, p-completely regular and almost p-completely regular spaces. In 1997 & 2004 ,Malghan et al. have defined and studied the concepts of almost s-completely regular spaces and s-completely regular spaces . In 2010, Navalagi introduced the concepts of pre-zero sets and co-pre-zero sets to characterize the concepts of p-completely regular spaces and almost p-completely regular spaces. Recently, Navalagi introduced and studied the concepts of -zero sets , co--zero sets , -completely regular spaces and almost -completely regular spaces. In this paper, we offer some new concepts of -zero sets , co--zero sets , -completely regular spaces and almost -completely regular spaces . We also characterize their basic properties via -zero sets .

Experimental Study on Exploring the Potential of Low Cement Content Concrete through Alkaline Binder
  • Abstract

  • Full Article
This paper describes the experimental study of using low cement content for concrete manufacturing by the application of polymerization. This geopolymer concrete technology will help us to reduce the carbon emission, economical and helps in growth of concrete industries. In this study industrial wastes like fly ash and GGBS are use for cementicious material whereas calcium hydroxide is used as alkaline activator for the process of polymerization. The paper reveals the experimental study about complete replacement of cement with flyash,GGBS and calcium hydroxide as binder activator. The concrete has good range of workability and there is no delay in setting time since accelerating admixture was used. The cube of size 150mmx150mmx150mm and cylinder of size 150mmx300mm are casted for M25 grade of concrete which is cured under normal temperature. The slump test revealed that the fresh concrete was cohesive and flow was from 80 mm to 120 mm .The compressive and tensile strength are evaluated which is ranges from 10.22 N/mm2 to 34.22 N/mm2 and 2.22 N/mm2 to 4.52 N/mm2 vice versa. The result of M2 and M3 are superior to conventional mix.

Testing for the existence of Laffer curve: Norway
  • Abstract
  • Keywords

  • Full Article
The Laffer curve is a theory in taxation explained by the supply-side economist Arthur Laffer, he used it to demonstrate the relationship between the tax rate and the correspondingly tax revenue collected by the government. He argued that economic activities, such as production decreased as taxes increased, and vice-versa.

Review on Seismic Analysis of Bridge
  • Abstract

  • Full Article
Countless bridges built the world over were structured during the period when extension codes had no seismic plan arrangements, or when these arrangements were inadequate as indicated by the present principles. Additionally, because of maturing and the development of vehicular loads in greatness and volume, many existing extensions in India are encountering deterioration.Bridge models were examined by the parametric variety of the info components like the quantity of paths, carriage way width, number of longitudinal supports, number of cross braces, range length utilizing SAP2000. All the models were dissected under vehicular and seismic stacking. For vehicular investigation load combinations were utilized according to IRC: 6-2014 and seismic examination was finished with reaction range investigation and direct time history examination utilizing IS: 1893 section 3 (draft adaptation). Past experience and late research shows that soil structure interaction assumes a significant job on seismic reaction of bridge structures..........
