  • Full Article
The object of study of this paper is the body of four interconnected pneumatic warehouses, to be designed and built in a municipal food distribution and market in the city of Campinas, Brazil. The objective of this paper is the reflective and propositional analysis of the exploratory architectural design process of the aforementioned pneumatic warehouses with the use of manual and digital design tools. The architectural design steps comprised in this research include its early stages of formal-structural conception and ideation, that is, schematic design and design development..........

Ultra-High-Performance Concrete (UHPC) application comparison based on Metallic Vs. Non-Metallic Fibers
  • Abstract
  • Keywords
  • Reference
  • Full Article
This paper presents metallic and non-metallic fibers used in Ultra-High-Performance Concrete (UHPC) and their mechanical properties. Fibers lend to UHPC the ductility required to manufacture intricate and sophisticated panels that are thin and lightweight for architectural facades, and landscape and pedestrian bridges. Steel fibers are commonly used in the manufacture of UHPC due to their mechanical properties. UHPC also utilizes non-metallic fibers in the concrete mix that helps in the production of lightweight elements. The paper also discusses some challenges associated with the universal acceptance of UHPC, the lack of sufficient research, and the challenges faced in implementing UHPC.

Recovery Analysis of Vegetation in Gorewada Forest After Fire Using GIS And Remote Sensing
  • Abstract

  • Full Article
Maharashtra registered 60,851 alerts out of the over 3.86 lakh fire alerts issued countrywide by the Forest Survey of India (FSI) based on satellite data, accounting for 16% of the nation's total forest fire events in 2021. These studies draw attention to the growing problem of declining forest cover due to forest fires over the past five years. Wildland fires significantly impact the sustainability and loss of biodiversity in forest ecosystems. This study is about the detailed analysis of the Gorewada forest fire. In May 2022, a forest fire broke out in Gorewada. As the wind blew, the forest fire spread to a larger area toward Lava-Dabha village. After a massive effort for five hours, the fire was doused...........

Experimental study on adsorption of Nickel(II) from wastewater by agrowaste
  • Abstract
  • Keywords
  • Reference
  • Full Article
In this study, the use of discarded banana and papaya stem as a biosorbent to remove nickel (II) ions from aqueous solutions is investigated. The effects of solution pH, biosorbent dose, initial metal concentration, contact time, and temperature were investigated in batch studies using activated carbon made from banana stem (BSAC) and papaya stem (PSAC) as the adsorbent. The goal was to identify the ideal biosorption conditions. Adsorption isotherm investigations demonstrated that, when compared to the Freundlich isotherm model, the Langmuir isotherm model provided a better fit for the experimental data. The maximal nickel removal capacity of the BSAC and PSAC adsorbents was 4.9019 mg/g and 5.181 mg/g, respectively. The findings of the current study imply that agricultural waste, such as papaya and banana stem waste, and can be employed in a useful way to remove nickel from aqueous solution.

Study Of Status Of Water Supply Schemes Funded By Rural Water Supply And Sanitation Project- Western Nepal In Parbat District
  • Abstract

  • Full Article
This study discusses the deterioration and maintenance challenges of rural water supply and sanitation systems. These systems degrade over time due to various factors, leading to increased operational costs and decreased water quality. Proper maintenance involving beneficiaries is crucial to preserve these systems. The study's core objective was to evaluate the status and functionality of different water supply schemes funded by RWSSP-WN and implemented by DDC Parbat in the initial RWSSP-WN phase. This aimed to pinpoint operational and maintenance issues and propose policy enhancements for rural water supply system maintenance. The study evaluated water supply schemes in Nepal funded by a donor agency and found limited interaction between beneficiaries and water users committees (WUCs) responsible for maintenance. Beneficiaries' income levels and reliance on agriculture were noted.........
