It can be shown that electron/positron pair production, nucleogenesis and nucleisynthesis could be much more extensive than assumed in current theories in the Sun's corona. It can also be shown that the extreme temperatures observed in the corona may be due to nucleon genesis within the corona and that most heavy elements in the Solar system could be indigenous and could have been produced in the corona by nucleisynthesis.

Weather Forecasting Using Soft Computing: Minimum Temperature, Maximum Temperature & Pressure

  • Abstract

  • Full Article
In a developing country, like India where agriculture is the base for national economy, the weather conditions including Minimum Temperature, Maximum Temperature and Pressure play a leading role. Therefore having accurate weather forecasting information may allow farmers to make their better decisions on managing their farms. Similar statement can be made for industries where accurate weather condition prediction may help them in their proper development as these are the factors that affect them directly or indirectly. Soft computing using ANN is an effective approach to construct a computationally intelligent system that is able to process non-linear weather conditions within a specific domain, and make predictions. The proposed work focus on modeling of such an intelligent system that can forecast with minimum error rate in term of MSE with a better Architecture.

This paper discusses the case study and comparison of productivity of a Conventional Planer with automated planer, there is an attempt to develop a electro-pneumatic circuit for a planing operation using a planer, which makes the operation semiautomatic producing a plane and flat surface. The movements of a planer namely, reciprocating motion of the table, the crosswise movement of the tool head across the cross-rail and the clamping of the component on the table are being automated using pneumatic components namely, pneumatic cylinders, pneumatic DCV‟S, FCV‟S and electrical and electronic devices. The electro-pneumatic circuit developed, simulated and executed is interfaced with PLC.

Dynamic Response of the Dummy in Case of Child Cyclist Collision with Passenger Car
  • Abstract

The safety of pedestrians and cyclists is justified especially in terms of prevention. This paper deals with the biomechanical analysis of load exerted on the child cyclist in configuration typical for cyclists (sudden enter the road or the case of non-giving way; the car front vs. the left side of the cyclists). Two tests were performed in the same configuration and nominal collision speed, the first one with a bicycle helmet and the second one without the helmet. Using the accelerometers in the head, chest, pelvis and knee of the dummy acceleration fields were detected, which is the cyclist exposed during the primary and secondary collision. In conclusion, the results will be interpreted by values of biomechanical load and severity of potential injuries including kinematic and dynamic comparison with a pedestrian vs. vehicle collision.

Closed Loop Single Phase Bidirectional AC to AC Buck Boost Converter for Power Quality Improvement
  • Abstract

A closed loop bidirectional ac to ac buck boost converter circuit using power MOSFET is analyzed for reducing the output voltage sag and improving efficiency of the converter. The regenerative dc snubbers are used directly to power semiconductor switches to absorb energy stored in stray line inductances. These dc snubbers enhance the conversion efficiency as it has very simple structure consisting only of a capacitor. A fast response peak voltage detector for fast output voltage control is also proposed. It is observed from the simulation results obtained using MATLAB simulink, that the proposed closed loop scheme gives good dynamic and steady state performances with a high-quality output voltage, improved power factor, low harmonics, improved efficiency and significant reduction of the filter size.

Droop Control of Parallel Inverters with LCL Filter and Active Damping in Stand-alone Operation
  • Abstract

Because of the acute shortage of conventional energy resources, renewable energy harness is gaining attention. Voltage source inverter forms the interface to feed the power from the renewable source to utility. In order to increase the modularity of the system, the use of several parallel inverters of reduced rating is preferred. An effective control strategy to maintain the amplitude and frequency of output voltages of each inverter at the specified values is necessary, in order to avoid circulating currents and to share load currents proportionally. When inverters are connected in parallel without communication each inverter should be able to form the grid. This paper presents a simple and effective droop control strategy for two three phase inverters to develop a grid. Each inverter is assigned with an LCL filter at the output and active damping. The control strategy consists of two control loops, an outer voltage control loop and inner current control loop.

A Multiband Pifa with Slotted Ground Plane For Personal Communication Handheld Devices
  • Abstract

In mobile phones and several other wireless communication devices, antenna is an important element which decides the quality & performance of the device over various communication standards. In this paper, a compact internal Planar Inverted-F Antenna (PIFA) with a ground plane having two open ended slots is proposed which is very thin compared to conventional PIFA structure. By using the ground plane as a radiator element along with top plate of PIFA structure, the height of PIFA can be reduced to a great extent, which further results in reducing thickness of mobile phones. In this paper the proposed antenna has volume as 25 x 15 x 3.8 mm3 and it is simulated & analyzed using HFSS software. The antenna is designed to operate at GPS, GLONASS, DCS (1800 MHz), PCS (1900 MHz), UMTS (2100 MHz), Bluetooth (2400 MHz), 4G LTE (2300 MHz & 2600 MHz), WLAN (5.2 GHz) standards. The simulation results show that the performance parameters of the antenna are satisfying the requirements of advance wireless communication devices.

High Velocity Impact Analysis on "Composite Material Block" Using FEM Approach
  • Abstract

The failure of an AL6061-T6 and Kevlar-29 composite plate under high-velocity impact from an S-S (structural Steel) projectile tool was investigated using the nonlinear explicit finite element software, ANSYS AUTODYAN. Two velocity ranges 350 m/s and 700 m/s were used for FEM simulation. It was analyzed that AL6061-T6 is more resistant than KELVAR 29 at both ranges but Kevlar 29 is light in weight than AL6061 and have more application in aviation industry. The composite laminate and the tool were venerated by solid FEM elements. The contact between the tool and plate was simulated using a surface-to-surface eroding contact algorithm. It was also observed that tool dimension and mass play important role in failure conditions.
