Effective Prestress Force Considering Instantaneous Loss in Reactor Containment Building |
||||||||
Reactor Containment Building (RCB) is the most important structure in a nuclear power plant since
it is the last barrier against contaminated materials. Since RCB should not be cracked under design internal
pressure, post-tension is typically applied along wall and dome in RCB. However, it is not simple to precisely
evaluate effective prestress force along prestress tendons since many parameters such as frictions and anchorage
slip should be taken into the account. In this paper, effective prestress force has been rationally evaluated
through numerical iteration algorithm to consider prestress loss due to wobble and curvature frictions and
anchorage slip together................

Solar-Battery Car with Four-Wheels Solar-Array Trailers |
For some areas of the globe where solar energy is available throughout the year, one is tempted to
use solar energy to drive cars. However, solar energy on its own is not sufficient to propel the car due to the low
specific surface energy of solar radiation.
In [1], we explored the possibility of using solar-battery cars with solar-array trailers in order to increase solar
power input. In order to minimize the weight and drag of the trailers, two wheels were used as support. The use
of solar trailers, however, resulted in a decrease in the operating speed due to stability and energy requirements.
In order to increase the operating speed, we resort in this paper to four-wheels solar-array trailers and 1600W
solar-arrays.This resulted in the increase in the stability limit of operation as well as a boost in the solar energy
harvested.

Degradation Pattern for Various Biomasses |
As per study of Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Current availability of biomass in India is
estimated at about 500 million metric tons per year and estimated surplus biomass availability at about 120 –
150 million metric tons per annum covering agricultural and forestry residues corresponding to a potential of
about 18,000 MW. The Main difficulty in biomass utilization is fuel degradation. With time moisture and sand %
change due to its inherent chemical reaction (due to high temperature), moisture ingress from earth and rainfall
during storage. Thus the mass and Gross Calorific Value (GCV) change over year which in turn impact plant
performance. That's why biomass properties measured at the time of procurement do not match with those at
the time of fuel feeding. So plant has to take care of degradation rate of various biomasses and feeding time also
have to be selected accordingly. Rate of degradation is dependent on if biomass is covered or uncovered

A Comparative Study on K-Means And Genetic Algorithm For Data Clustering |
Data mining is the process of analyzing data from various panoramas and epitomizes it into valuable
facts. Clustering is a practical unsupervised data mining task that segregates an input data set into a required
count of subgroups so that members will have high similarity and the member of different groups have large
differences. K-means is a usually used for partitioning based clustering technique that identifies the user
designated clusters (k), symbolized by their centroids, by minimizing the square error function. Although Kmeans
is easy and can be used for a wide variety of data types, it is rather sensitive to initial positions of cluster
centers..............

Survey on Artificial Intelligence Techniques for Images Captured in A Body Worn Camera |
Body worn cameras have carved the niche for efficiency in the identification of the miscreants.
This paper surveys the various optimal methods for texture analysis and image classification from the video
frames acquired from the body worn camera. The recommended configuration is a low powered, always-on
camera, substantiated under the section II of related works. The frames would then undergo background
subtraction which consists of background modelling and foreground detection which ultimately attenuates noise.
This process proceeds for human detection followed by posture detection. The feature extraction is obligatory to
zoom in on the posture of the silhouette.............

A Downscaling Technique for Climatological Data in Areas with Complex Topography and Limited Data |
||||||||
The current study describes a technique for downscaling climatological data in areas with limited or
no grid data. In cases where grid data are unavailable and the researcher is called to operate on a regional or in
the mesoscale and produce detailed and not coarse results, this technique can be a helping hand. It constitutes a
combination of statistical downscaling through multi-linear regression techniques and dynamical downscaling
by employing Geographical Information Systems, and it can be used in order to spatially interpolate with high
resolution various climatological variables. The application of the described technique was applied on 3
agricultural areas that present different climate conditions and are characterised by complex topography..............

Exploring the Benefits of Rapid Prototyping for Effective and Speedy Mass Production |
||||||||
The changing trends in appearance and style have led to frequent introduction of consumer and
engineering products unto the market. The need to reduce cycle time from the conception of a product to its
mass production has become evident. This paper introduces the concept of using technologies collectively
known as Rapid Prototyping (RP) for the manufacture of end use products. The paper described the process of
rapid prototyping using stereolithography. A 3D printer used as one method of RP, was equally described and
sample designed product like car model and scissors jack were used for illustration. This study ends by
providing possible benefits of using RP which are mainly saving time and cost.

Desalination of Water by Using Natural Adsorbents |
Growing population, accelerating pace of industrialization and intensification of agriculture and
urbanization exert heavy pressure on our water resources. With the increase in the age of the earth, clean water
is becoming more precious because water is being polluted by several manmade activities, e.g., rapid population
growth, alarming speed of industrialization and deforestation, urbanization, increasing living standards and wide
spheres of other human activities.Chlorides are generally present in water in the form of NaCl. Chloride in
concentration above 600mg/l tends to give water a salty taste. WHO specifies highest desirable concentration of
chloride in portable water must be 200ppm. Chloride attack is one of the most important aspects for

Experimental Evaluation of the Punching Shear Behavior of The Steel Grid Composite Deck |
The partially filled steel grid composite deck is a composite structure made of a concrete slab disposed
over a steel grid. The joint of the deck segments with regular width can be designed as mechanical connection using
concrete shear keys and bolts. Since bending test was already performed to examine the structural performanceof this
deck system, this study focuses on its punching shear behavior. The results show that the flexural strength of the
single-span deck is governed by the punching shear and that ductile behavior without sudden failure is achieved
owing to the effect of the steel grid installed at the bottom of the deck.................

Software Quality and Productivity Enhancement Model |
In this paper, architecture is designed in such a way that will enhance quality of specification of
modules that result to enhance quality of software module design. It does not directly depends only upon
specification factor (feasibility study), but also depends upon some other attributes that may be
directly/indirectly(Reusability, Under-stability, Correctness, Completeness, Well documented, Flexibility).
Hence quality of specification is directly proportional to design of software module to enhance reliability of
modules. The proposed model designed in such a way that it remove the maximum faults or errors in early
phase of development using Risk analysis( by cause and effect diagram), fault prediction, validate SRS by using
testing and evaluation.
