Roi Based Advanced Image Compression Technique For Telemedicine System |
Medical images used at medical facilities are now commonly digitalized due to corresponding advances in information technology. Digital imaging technologies have acquired sufficient reliability and cost effectiveness to convince imaging providers to shift from film based to filmless department. New algorithm for image compression based on wavelets has been recently developed. Regarding which, this paper represents the implementation of encoder and decoder for the region of interest based still image compression using the discrete wavelet transform. The region of interest part is the diagnostically important part for the doctor to diagnose the disease.....

Awareness of Leed Rating System Credit Categories for Green Buildings Applications to the Existing Building |
Buildings have major environmental impacts over their entire life cycle. Thus, buildings are one of the major pollutants that affect urban air quality and contribute to climate change. Hence, the need to design a green building is the essence of which would be to address all these issues in an integrated and scientific manner. Many official green building programs, communities and organizations launched several rating systems to help the sustainable process assessment; all of these rating systems are built in a way to adapt the idea of Sustainability in architecture which seeks to minimize the negative environmental impact of buildings by enhancing efficiency in the use of materials, energy, and space.........

PIR Sensor Based Robot With HMH Applications |
Until now we have come across many types of sensors which are being employed in almost all the fields separately (viz., entertainment, safety). To witness the world that a single sensor can be used in multiple applications namely security, safety, user-friendly, rescue which is called PIR (Passive Infrared) sensor which
detects the reflected Infrared rays from Humans as the temperature of Humans is different. So when temperature
is detected then a buzzer, LCD, GSM, Virtual Keyboard are activated depending on the applications. Here we have three applications using PIR sensors likeHMH (Home, Military and Hotel)where at home it is used for detecting humans and then switch ON the lights & fans. In Military applications the robot is used at borders to detect enemies and then warn us about enemies using buzzer& send a message to us using GSM...... ..........................................................................

Experimental analysis on window air conditioner with R22 and R407c refrigerants |
This project is about the study of two different types of refrigerants in window air conditioning. The air conditioning industry is currently evaluating alternative refrigerants for R-22. A window-type air conditioning system is selected for the tests conducted with two different types of refrigerants. These air conditioning units are spread widely in their applications and are circulating R-22 as a refrigerant. Finding an alternative refrigerant for replacing R-22 is becoming a practical problem because general use of hydro chlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs) including R-22 is promised to be banned by 2020 as per the Montreal Protocol. In this project we use R22 and R407c (mixture of R-32/125/134a) in same system without changing anything like lubricating oil or any other component like compressor, condenser, tubes etc..........

Power Flow Tracing Based Congestion Management Using Firefly Algorithm In Deregulated Electricity Market |
||||||||
Congestion Management (CM) is one of the critical and major tasks performed by the system operator. It is considered to be more important as it may initiate the cascading outages which forces the system
to collapse. Since few generators contribute the line overloading in the CM problem, it is enough to reschedule their outputs only. To identify the most contributing generator, power flow tracing approach is used in this paper. FireFly (FF) algorithm is employed to reschedule the outputs of selected generators. The proposed method is tested on a standard IEEE 30 bus system and a practical Indian utility 62 bus system. Various case studies are carried out on the test systems to demonstrate the effectiveness of the FF algorithm and the obtained results prove that FF algorithm is indeed capable of getting high quality solution for the CM problem.

Solar Based E – Uniform For Soldiers-Used For Temperature Control And Tracking |
Solar based E-Uniform gives better protection to the soldiers who are working in extreme weather conditions. Solar Panels are used to power up the internal circuitry of the E-uniform. A 12 V DC lead acid rechargeable battery is used for storing the energy. We are using conventional battery charging unit also for giving supply to the circuitry. AT89S52 micro controller is the heart of the circuit as it controls all the functions. A voltage sampler is interfaced with the system using ADC 0808 to get the voltage generated from battery as a display on a 16X2 LCD..........

Role of sonication in decomposition of Perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) by Sonophotocatalysis |
||||||||
The omnipresence of perfluoroalkyl acids (PFAAs) in the environment and subsequent health and environmental effects has raised a significant interest in the scientific community challenging their elimination from the environmental matrices. Accordingly, in the quest of suitable and efficient treatment processes for the decomposition of recalcitrant PFAAs the present research focused on exploring the capabilities of a combinatorial process of sonophotocatalysis, involving the synergistic effect offered by ultrasonication and photocatalysis, in degrading Perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA), a widespread contaminant candidate of PFAAs. A decomposition efficiency of about 80% has been achieved. PFOA has been decomposed into shorter carbon chain length compounds......

Content-Based Video Indexing and Retrieval Using Directional Temporal Local Binary Patterns (DTLBP) |
The omnipresence of perfluoroalkyl acids (PFAAs) in the environment and subsequent health and environmental effects has raised a significant interest in the scientific community challenging their elimination from the environmental matrices. A decomposition efficiency of about 80% has been achieved. PFOA has been decomposed into shorter carbon chain length compounds......In this paper, we present a novel algorithm meant for content-based video indexing and retrieval, using directional temporal local binary patterns (DTLBP). DTLBP extracts motion information in 0o, 45o, 90o, and 135o directions. We have applied our proposed method on a data set of three hundred and thirty five videos (among which seventy two videos are of boat type; eighty videos are of car type; one hundred and forty eight videos are of airplane type, and thirty five videos are of war tank type) which are collected from TRECVID 2005, BBC and GOOGLE. To evaluate the performance of our algorithm, we have compared it with the existing volume local binary patterns (VLBP) method. Our method has shown reasonably good results compare to VLBP method.

Customized Algorithm to Enhance the Computer Data Security Using Hardware Key And Randomization Technique |
During the last decades, information security has become a major issue. Encrypting and decrypting data have recently been widely investigated and developed because there is a demand for a stronger encryption and decryption which is very hard to crack. Cryptography plays major roles to fulfilment these demands. Nowadays, many of researchers have proposed many of encryption and decryption algorithms such as AES, DES, and others. But most of the proposed algorithms encountered some problems such as password cracking, time taken for encryption and decryption.......

Modeling of Hysteresis Motor |
Hysteresis motor is similar to permanent magnet synchronous motor. Magnetic property of rotor material plays very much important role on performance of motor. This motor posses smooth vibration free operation, lower noise, constant torque etc and having wider applications in sound producing, sound recording instrument, teleprinter, hairdryer, gyroscope etc. Hysteresis motor particularly used in application have smooth starting torque. Hysteresis motors are limited to small size by the difficulty of controlling rotor losses caused by imperfections in the stator mmf wave........
