Mathematical Method for Selecting Team Members from a Social Network |
Selecting the most effective team from a social network has two different viewpoints. The team should be connected together in a proper way to enable co-operation. In addition, the individuals should have needed skills to complete the task. The selection problem arises from optimizing the combination of these two aspects. In this paper, a modelling method is described for a situation where specific skills are required for different tasks in the project. A typical issue in organizing a project team is insufficient analysis of existing social relationships between the potential team members. The relationships are either regarded as strict command relationships or less strict support relationships. However, there are aspects of social networking that are usually left unnoticed. The better the potential team members know each other the better the selected members are expected to interact in collaboration situations...........

Analysis of Improved DV-Distance Algorithm for Distributed Localization in Wsns |
Node localization is one of the important supporting technologies in Wireless Sensor Networks. The process of node localization depends on the accuracy of determining the position of the nodes in the required environment. Most of the applications of WSNs require the knowledge of the location of the sensors. The main task of a wireless sensor node is to sense and collect data from a certain domain, process the data and transmit the same to the anchor node. In this paper, both the DV-distance localization algorithm and the improved version of the same is analysed for localization errors. In the DV-distance algorithm, the cumulative distance is obtained by the use of distance vector routing whereas, in the improved DV-distance algorithm hops are introduced between anchor and unknown nodes to determine the distance. Simulation results show that, localization accuracy of the improved algorithm is better than the DV-distance algorithm.

Cloud Storage Optimization Approach Using Compressive Sensing |
Management of massive data or signals is one of the difficult problems in cloud storage. To handle this, most of the Cloud Storage Providers (CSP's) incorporate data compression methods to utilize the storage space optimally. We present a compressed sensing based method that allows performing data or signal capturing, its compression and encryption at the same time. We also present techniques specially for reconstructing the signal or data and evaluate their performance.

A Novel Adaptive Dragonfly Algorithm for Global Optimization Problems |
A novel bio-inspired optimization algorithm based on the swarming behavior of Dragonflies in nature named as Dragonfly Algorithm (DA) in contrast to meta-heuristics; main feature is randomization having a relevant role in both exploration and exploitation in optimization problem. A novel randomization technique termed adaptive technique is integrated with DA and exercised on unconstraint test benchmark function andlocalization of partial discharge in transformer like geometry. DA algorithm has quality feature that it uses static and dynamic swarming process covers vast area in exploration phase and step position changes over each iteration towards targeted destination or towards optimal solution. Integration of new randomization adaptive technique provides potential that ADA algorithm to attain global optimal solution and faster convergence with less parameter dependency. Adaptive DA (ADA) solutions are evaluated and results shows its competitively better performance over standard DA optimization algorithms.

Simulation on Optical Performance of Wire Grid Polarizers Considering Process Uniformity |
Wire grid polarizers (WGPs) have potential to replace absorptive polarizing films because of the possibility to enhance the optical performance in liquid crystal display (LCD). Typical WGPs consist of metallic wires, which have high aspect ratio and narrow pitch sizes. Although there have been many fabrication approaches, they have been considered as a difficult process to obtain relevant uniformity in a large area for commercial uses. In this work, we study the effects of the process non-uniformity to optical performance in LCDs. When we assume the uniformity of metal film thicknesses and widths of the line patterns as 10%, the uniformity of transmittance is less than 5%. However, the extinction ratio, which is the ratio of white and black states, has a 30% of uniformity. In addition, we discuss the effect of the alignment distortion between two polarizers to the display performance.

Problems of Modeling the Phase Transformations in Nonlinear and Relaxed Optics |
Problems of modeling the phase transformations in Nonlinear and Relaxed Optics are discussed.
It was shown that these processes may be having nonequilibrium and irreversible nature. The influence of
mechanisms of light scattering on formation Nonlinear and Relaxed optical processes is analyzed. Classification
of proper light-induced phase transformations is represented. Cascade nature of these transformations is
observed. Methods of modeling shock waves processes is used fore modeling laser-induced volume phase
transformations. Corresponding experimental data are analyzed too.

Analysis of Extreme Value at Risk to Amazon Stocks |
TheVaR of the negative log returns of E-commerce stock Amazon stock (AMZN) (during the period ofOctober 31, 1997 to October 30, 2017) are studied, and based on the statistical exam and analysis, it turns out that the returnsis a stationary, uncorrelated time series, and not normally distributed or t-distributed. Therefore, one cannot use the traditional way to compute the value at risk (VaR) of the returns based on either normal distribution or t-student distribution. How to evaluate the VaR of the returns becomes a very tricky problem. To avoid the assumption of distribution of the returns, in this paper, we use the Extreme Value Theory to approach VaR and conclude that the calendar anomalies which are the lower risk seasons are Q2 and Q3 and higher risk seasons are Q1 and Q4. But the investors should realize that the resulting principle of AMZN stock may not apply to other portfolios or stocks. Especially, comparing with empirical results of traditional portfolio SPDR S&P 500 ETF SPY (SPY), we conclude that the seasonal effect of E-commerce and traditional commerce are quite different.
