Organizational Implementation of Technology Platforms in Diversified Companies |
The significance of technology platforms as technology focused organization forms is growing in diversified companies. The reason is that technology platforms support diversified companies to handle the conflicting priorities of individualized innovations and generating synergies. Hence, the success of diversified companies can be significantly affected by the systematic design of technology platforms. Key prerequisite for such a systematic platform design is the consistent description of the various organizational implementation options for technology platforms. In practice however, companies find it difficult to consistently describe the various organizational implementation options for technology platforms..............

An Experimental Study on Creep Characteristics of HSC |
A concrete element when kept under sustained load presents progressive strain over time, which is associated with the creep phenomenon. The creep characteristic of high strength concrete assumes importance in the back drop of increase in prestressed concrete constructions. The loss in prestress and long term deflection depend on creep strain of high strength concrete. Even in case of RC columns, such creep induced deformations cause the stress increase in the reinforcement and may induce the material to undergo yielding. An experimental study is conducted to determine the time induced creep strain of high strength concrete using creep rig of capacity 1000 kN..............

Consumer Behaviour w.r.t. Innovative Sensory Marketing Strategies |
Researchers have suggested that marketers should incorporate as many senses as possible in order for sensory marketing to be effective. To investigate the influence of selected senses – sight, sound and smell – on consumers‟ experience, specifically in terms of the tastiness of brandy. Even though the use of the senses such as sight, sound and smell is a popular sensory marketing tool in the field of experiential marketing, applying such marketing techniques is a challenging and costly exercise for marketers, and researchers have called for more studies on senses and consumer experience. A full factorial laboratory experiment (2 x 2 x 2) conducted where 240 spirits consumers indicated the tastiness of a brandy sample under certain conditions. Results revealed that, within a laboratory setting..............

Address Mapping In Content Addressable Memory Interface with A Low Power Approach
The addressable memory contents are pointed using address pointer. In the addressing mode, the address pointer is programmed to generate addressing location in a sequence and pass to the data bus. Here, the address pointers are used to fetch the data in a predefined sequence and the variability in address pointer would leads to high power consumption. This variability, leads to high transition and hence leads to transitional power consumption in memory interface. To minimize the power consumption, in this paper, a new reordered memory interface with correlative transition optimization is presented.

Risk Assessment for the Acceptance of Construction Materials |
Highway agencies deal with a variety of materials and construction processes where a wide spectrum of specifications and acceptance requirements exist. Over the past two decades the role of most of these agencies has shifted from quality control of materials and placement techniques to quality assurance and acceptance. In such scenario producers are responsible for monitoring quality test results (i.e., Quality Control, QC), and agencies collect and use quality assurance data (QA) for acceptance and rewards based on the quality at delivery. In the process of revising such quality and acceptance approach there is a need to consider the risks associated with the acceptance of materials and construction quality to both the agency and supplier...............

Phosphorus: Analysis And Use in Agriculture |
In many agricultural systems, phosphorus (P) is one of the most limiting mineral nutrients for plant production. Phosphorus in agriculture is the second most growth limiting macronutrient after nitrogen, its proper management in soil contributes significantly to sustainable crop production. In such soils wherever yield is restricted as a result of low Phosphorus concentration, application of comparatively higher quantity of mineral phosphorus fertilizers is that the only way to enhance soil phosphorus. The commonly phosphorus fertilizers that contain P2O5 are Single superphosphate (16% P2O5 Granulated) and Di ammonium phosphate. Thus, the status of soil phosphorus as a major contributor to overall soil fertility, or the ability to produce crops, was improved.

Removal of Phenol, Ammonia And Thiocyanate Either Alone or in Combination By the Adsorption with Steel Slag
Wastewater any industry is of very complex nature as it contains multiple toxicants. The evaluation of individual toxicant in isolation and in the presence of other toxicants is necessary. Adsorption of phenol, ammonia and thiocyanateeither alone or in combination has been evaluated against the parameters affecting the adsorption. Dosage of adsorbent, initial concentration of the toxicant, time of adsorption process and pH of the solutions and studied with the help of fractional factorial Experimental Designs 24−1 and FTIR analysis. It is found that removal of ammonia by the adsorption on the steel slag is favored under the presence of phenol. Similarly, adsorption of phenol and thiocyanate is also found increased in the presence of phenol.

Effect of Additives on Morphology Texture And Corrosion Resistance of Electrodeposited Zinc And Zinc-Cobalt Alloy
Zinc and Zinc –Cobalt alloy are widely used to protect iron and steel substrates against corrosion. In the present study, zinc and zinc – Cobalt alloys were electrodeposited from alkaline baths under incessant current and also in the presence of Vanillin (Vn), Saccharin (Sa), and Rochelle salt (Rs) as additives. AAS and EDAX show the coexistence of additives in the deposit. The deposit morphology has been analyzed using X-ray diffraction (XRD). Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) has been used to determine the favored crystallographic point of reference of the deposits. Studies have also been done on the CCE and Throwing power of zinc and zinc – cobalt alloy baths. The result shows that additives improve the nanostructure of the deposits hence, the corrosion resistance.

Delft3d Model of The Estuarine Area of The Ebrié Lagoon In The Low Water Period |
The FLOW module of Delft3D software was used to simulate the 3D hydrodynamic processes during the low water in the estuarine area of the Ebrié lagoon. We choose this area because in term of hydrodynamics it's the most active area of the lagoon. This study was carried out to simulate and therefore to understand the current behaviour across the water column.he calibration focused on bottom rugosity, water viscosity and the time step. We chose the good value of this parameters after comparing three statistic indicators of each test: root mean square error (RMSE), coefficient of correlation (r) and coefficient of determination (R2).............

Deployment Strategy Analysis and Optimization of Police Patrols in an Emergency Response System Using Stochastic Simulation
We approach this problem from an operations research and logistics in the service and government sector perspective, based on the analysis of resource allocation in a safety Emergency Response System (ERS) of a large city in Mexico, to decrease response time of police patrols considering a reference ideal response time. Our research incorporates the second half of the 7th police district to previously published results of seven police districts, since this district includes the equivalent of two districts. This research utilizes a discrete stochastic model based on characterized demand and system performance of 23 continuous days. The model first reproduces actual operations to validate its behaviour. Subsequently, alternative scenarios were configured to incorporate the ideal international response time reference of three minutes, and identify required resource configuration strategies for each police quadrant. Similar to previous research, results found that the recommended allocation level of resources was realistic to be accomplished.

A Comparison of Grid and Cloud Computing Technology |
Cloud computing has evolved in this decade and become an intriguing field of study for researchers. Platforms and architectures are continuing to be developed, and every couple of years, new cloud computing techniques are discovered, with some of them deemed as revolutionary breakthroughs. One of the most amazing aspects of cloud computing is that researchers can develop a service and deliver it to users most likely through the Internet, without the need for an upgrade to the user side hardware. Cloud computing is the most famous but not the only paradigm to offer tremendous compute capability. Another form of comparable computing is grid computing which also offers the capability to process data in less time. This survey reviews both grid and cloud computing in order to clarify the understanding of applications, architecture, and topologies. We analyse three basic delivery models for cloud computing. Finally, we explore about link multiple clouds network, also known as inter-cloud or cloud of clouds.
