Study on prediction methods of stroke-related pneumonia |
Objective: Establish an appropriate prediction model for stroke-related pneumonia, predict whether stroke patients will cause pneumonia, and evaluate and analyze the predictive effect of the stroke-related pneumonia prediction model. Methods: Collect 183 clinical stroke cases (79 cases in the pneumonia group and 104 cases in the non-pneumonia group) on the first day of admission and medical history data. After data processing and correlation analysis, 27 risk characteristics of stroke-related pneumonia were screened out, and logistic regression was used to verify the validity of the risk characteristics. Construct stroke-related pneumonia risk prediction models based on high-correlation features, including naive Bayes, Gaussian Bayes, neural networks, decision trees, and K-neighbor models, and conduct a comparative analysis of predictions. Results: It was identified that the percentage of lymphocytes, the ratio of neutrophils to lymphocytes, etc. are high-risk characteristics that affect the onset of stroke-related pneumonia.........

Contribution of the Vertical Electric Sounding to the Geotechnical Study of Some Soils of the West Region, Cameroon
Different combinations of soil affect how well it's going to be suited for construction. So the
knowledge of the soil underneath foundation is a geotechnically engineered solution for maximum stability of
buildings. In the present study, vertical electric soundings have been carried out in some villages of the West
Cameroon region to evaluate the parameters of the soil for geotechnical purposes. Using the Schlumberger
method, twenty-two (22) Vertical Electric Sounding (VES) were conducted. The data collected were
successively analysed qualitatively and later inverted to determine the nature and thickness of the underground
layers. The inverted models for the subsurface were found to be constituted of four or five layers. Each obtained
layer was described in terms of its resistivity and corresponding thickness..........

Effect of Random Inclusion of Plastic Fibres on Strength Behaviour of Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag Treated Black Cotton Soil
Soil stabilization is most important for the construction which is widely used in connection
with road pavement and foundation construction because it improves the engineering properties of soil such as
strength. Utilization of industrial waste materials in the improvement of soils is a cost efficient and environment
friendly method. Stabilization of the expansive soil is studied by using Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag
(GGBS) and Plastic Fibres. The present investigation is to evaluate the compaction and CBR values of
stabilized black cotton soil using GGBS and plastic fibre mixes. The geotechnical properties like compaction
parameters and California Bearing Ratio increase which indicates the improvement in strength. From these
results, it was found that optimum percentage of GGBS is 15% and of plastic fibres is 1% which gives the
maximum increment in the CBR value compared with all the other combinations.

Linking religious tourism and ecotourism with forest trails
This paper aims to promote ecotourism activities to visitors of sacred places so that the
combined activities will promote the well-being of a person. Religion plays a key role in people's everyday
practices but also in tourism practices, including destination choice and motivations for a visit to a sacred place.
Combine a visit to a sacred place with activities to nature is a farther motivation to do both and fell closer to
God and nature at the same time and escape from the daily routine. One of the most knowing ecotourism
activities is walking on a forest trail and enjoy the nature, the flora, the fauna, the view, the scenery of a place.
In this paper, we design forest trails that connect three orthodox monasteries in Paggaio Mountain in northern
Greece. In the design of the forest trails, the diverse vegetation and the view from the trail took into
consideration so the trail can attract the visitors of the monasteries to use it.

The Governance Approach In Public-Private Higher Education Institutions In Ecuador |
||||||||
The purpose of this document is to establish basic deductions based on the application events
presented by the relationship between the theory of governance as a trend of the new public management, as
value-added tools within the public and private Higher Education Institutions in Ecuador, positioning the
aforementioned concepts within the vanguard reforms of the public administration; through methodologies of
qualitative research and documentary comparison; establishing as results the generalities of governance, which
relevant actors intervene in public policies, which results guide the application of the theories of governance
determining a scenario of explanation.

A Cfd Investigation Of A Generic Bump And Its Application To A Diverter Less Supersonic Inlet |
This is Thesis done with the purpose to design and investigate how different geometries of a
compression surface integrated with an intake affects the performance such as distortion, boundary layer
diversion, pressure recovery and deceleration of speed.A successful design, such as that on the Lockheed
Martins F- 35 Lightning II, shows that a Diverter less Supersonic Inlet (DSI) compared to a conventional intake
can reduce the weight and weight is the primary driver to reduce cost and increase performance of a fighter
aircraft. The work was divided in two parts. In the first part, CFD calculations using the FOI developed Edge
4.1 code were made for the compression surfaces alone. In the second part the most promising design was
integrated with an intake. Two more bumps with the intake were model and the three geometries were compared
to the intake without bumpSurface flow, deceleration of Mach number, pressure recovery, mass flow, boundary
layer diversion, lift and drag were the factors chosen to be examined, boundary layer diversion and pressure
recovery being the two most vital.............
