Research on the Acoustic Realization of Lateral in Sundanese |
In this study, the duration, intensity and formant values are investigated on the lateral in
Sundanese, and it is found that, lateral is lengthened at word final position, which is due to the final lengthening
mechanism. The lateral is more lenis-like word-medially, so its intensity is greatly increased at this position.
Consonants are usually strengthened at word initial position, where they are more fortis-like, so the intensity
value is small at this position. Lateral at word final position is usually velarized, so the first formant value gets
increased, and the second formant gets decreased.

An Approach to Predict Daylight Glare Using Nazzal's Daylight Glare Index Formula |
One of the important functions of window is to admit natural lightto interior spaces of buildings.
This natural lighting in buildings helps to displace the requirement for artificial lighting, and thus, helps to save
energy. Though daylight has positive effects on visual comfort, but high window luminance or direct sunlight
from a window may cause discomfort. Visual discomfort in a day-lit interior environment is usually represented
by the degree of discomfort glare.Only a few formulae have been proposed for discomfort glare of daylight and
they are not sufficient in real daylight situations. No standard monitoring procedure is available to establish the
value of daylight glare ona comparative basis. This paper introduces a new glare evaluation method proposed by

Applicability of Groundwater Dams in Semi-Arid Regions: A Study in the North-Central Turkey |
Groundwater dams are a method to store and save groundwater, particularly in sand-gravel aquifers
for generally small scale water supplies in arid and semi-arid regions of the world. The operation involves the
construction of an impervious cut-off wall to hinder the groundwater flow downstream and the storage of more
water in the aquifer upstream of the dam. Stored water can be abstracted by pumping from wells or gravitational
flow if possible, depending on the topographic, geologic, technical, and economic conditions............

Symmetrical Multilevel Inverter with Reduced Number of switches With Level Doubling Network |
||||||||
A multilevel inverter is a power electronic device that is used for high voltage and high power
application because of its characteristics of synthesizing a sinusoidal voltage on several DC levels. They give
good quality output resulting with lower harmonic distortion in the output. This paper proposes a new topology
of a multilevel inverter that utilizes less number of switches in the circuit. The objective of this new topology is
to increase number of levels with a lower number of switches and sources without adding any complexity to the
power circuit. The advantage is to reduce the total harmonic distortion of the inverter output. Here switching
patterns are realized using both pulse generation unit and PWM technique and the total harmonic distortion is
measured using both the two methods. In this paper multi-carrier pulse width modulation technique are
proposed, which can minimize the total harmonic distortion................

Sparse Channel Estimation in Mimo-Of Dm Communication |
Wireless communication system is prone to distortions and noise. The system utilizes many
techniques to minimize the distortions and noise effects. The use of channel estimators is one of the many
techniques and has decent success. The channel estimation is important process in modern wireless
communication as it provides the channel state information. Thus it is important to get correct channel state
information so that we can have distortion less signal at the receiving end. Pilot based and blind channel
estimators are used for this purpose but are not successful in providing high data rates and complexity tradeoff.................

This paper discusses the innovative performance of polymer modified cement mortar in comparison
with conventional cement mortar particularly when exposed to severe environmental conditions. The effect of
cyclic exposure to air and salt water environment increases deterioration process resulting in a high cost of
maintenance and repair. The use of ordinary Portland cement system alone in severe environmental condition
may not be effective, and cannot provide long term solutions because the problems of concrete deterioration will
exist after a shorter period of time..................

The domestic and laboratory applicability of a microcontroller-based water level control system is
the focus of this paper. The inability to determine the upper and lower water levels in an overhead tank as well
as its inability to initiate an action, warrants a control action to stop or start the pump when the water level is
low or high, this is what informed the decision of this research. The use of Electronic, Electrical Machines and
other associated component in designing this system, forms the basis of the methods adopted to accomplish this
task. In this design when the fluid level reaches 100 percent the system stops pumping and at 20 percent.................

Noise Generation Mechanism of Tires |
In the automotive industry noise generation by tire has become an important area for the
researchers because of the strict noise norms. According to norms, the noise limit for the passenger car is 80 dB.
In an automotive vehicle there are three basic noise generation mechanisms which are wind turbulent noise,
power unit noise and tire noise. The part of this component in the total noise generation depends upon vehicle
speed i.e., whether the vehicle is accelerating, decelerating or turning. Among the different noise generation
sources tire noise contributes 10-15% of the overall noise generation. When the vehicle starts to accelerate, the
wind turbulence noise comes into picture..................

India has a large population all over the country and the electricity supply is need of this population
creates requirements of a large transmission and distribution. In transmission line towers, the tower legs are
usually set in concrete which generally provides good protection to the steel.
In transmission line towers, foundation plays an important role in safety and satisfactory performance of the
structure as it transmits the load from structure to earth. In present study, a typical 220 KV double circuit
transmission tower is considered, for designing the foundation manually with respect to loadings viz downward,
uplift and side thrusts. A proposed site was considered situated on the banks of river analyzed and design the
transmission tower in STAAD PRO and on the basis of analysis results and soil investigation reports the three
forces are validated in the designing of foundation manually..................

Analysis of the Aircraft Call-Sign Similarities in FIR Prague |
This article shows the analysis of call-sign similarity and confusion issues in the Czech airspace (which means the use of similar call-signs by aircraft operating in the same area on the same radiotelephony frequency often gives rise to potential and actual flight safety incidents – this hazard is usually referred to as "call-sign confusion"). Based on Eurocontrol´s general similarity rules was created algorithm identifying call-sign similarity from raw radar Asterix data in FIR Prague. The results (number of occurrences) are discussed in the text. Some recommendation for preventing and avoiding call-sign similarity and confusion are mentioned in the end of this text.

Improving Toughness of Alumina-Based Composites to Be Used As Bone Substitute |
||||||||
In this study it is show the experimental results of alumina reinforced with titanium additions,
forming a composite which by its components could be classified as a biomaterial. The experimental results
indicate that Al2O3-X wt. % Ti, (X = 0.5, 1, 2 and 3) composite material is an alternative material for its use as
human bone substitute, because its density, porosity and toughness are better than of the human bone.
Composites were manufactured using powders techniques. The results indicate that these composites have
densities between 3.6 - 3.9 g/cm3, values far higher than the density of the compact bone of 1.8 g/cm3. The
microstructure observed by scanning electron microscopy, shows a homogeneous distribution of titanium
particles in the alumina matrix. Fracture toughness of the proposed composite present's values range between
3.3 to 8.76 MPam-0.5, whereas fracture toughness of compact bone has a value of 4.05-4.32 MPam-0.5

Improvement of Marine Clay Performance Using Silica- Manganese Slag Stone Column Reinforced with Geotextile |
||||||||
Stone columns have proven to be the most suited technique for improving the bearing capacity of
weak or soft soils and are used worldwide. The stone column is most popular and cost effective ground
reinforcing technique which is used for flexible structures like oil storage tanks, embankments, raft foundations
etc. This technique is used for improving the strength parameters like bearing capacity and reduces the
settlements. The strength of the composite soil may further be increased by reinforcing the stone columns by
geotextile. In the present study, laboratory model tests have been carried out on floating stone column with and
without geotextile. In this study Silica-Manganese Slag and Sand is used as the stone column material and was
reinforced with geotextile with different encasement lengths of D, 2D, 3D & 4D. The tests indicate that the load
carrying capacity increases with increase of encasement length and settlements have been decreased.

An Hyper-Elliptic Curve Cryptosystem Scheme Using 3bc Algorithm |
This paper studies a public key generation in an enhanced ECC (Elliptic Curve Cryptosystem) using
FPGA's at the hardware implementation. To improve the strength of encryption and the speed of processing, the
public key and the private key of EC(Elliptic curve) over GF(2n ) are used to form a shared private key (X,Y).
And then the X is used with an initial point on HEC(Hyper-Elliptic Curve) over GF(2n ) to generate session
keys, which are used with 3BC (Block Byte Bit Cipher) (see [1], [6], [13]) algorithm for the data encryption. We
are investigating a novel approach of software/ hardware code sign implemented in Verilog Hardware

Generation of A Learning Pathway for A Learning Material |
The Metadata for educational resources helps to understand the details of learning object used on a website.
From the IEEE Learning Object Metadata there are various metadata which we can extract automatically. Still
there are metadata like interactivity type, interactivity level and Learning Path for which automatic extraction is
not identified. Our research will also focus on the automatic extraction of the learning path. Learning Path will
help Students to know the pre study and post study topics and it will help teachers to explain the topic by going
through sequence.

Energy harvesting by using microcontroller |
Magnetic levitation, maglev, or magnetic suspension is defined by which an object is suspended
with a support of magnetic fields. Maglev windmill power generation system used for analyzes the optimum
power output. Conventional wind turbine and Maglev wind turbines are the two types of wind turbines. Maglev
wind turbines have more advantages than the conventional wind turbines. For instance, maglev makes the
rotation possible in very low wind speed but conventional wind turbine rotates in high speed.

Production and Characterization of A Planar Inductor YIG A Variable Structures |
||||||||
In this paper, we study three methods of integrated inductors based on magnetic material. For the
first one, the thin film of magnetic material is a deposited by RF magnetron sputtering on an alumina substrate.
The thick layer of YIG of the second one is obtained by micromachining of a bulk wafer. The same technique is
used for the sandwich inductor. The use of magnetic material improves the performances of the inductor and
reduces its dimensions. The manufactured components are characterized in high frequency. The obtained results
show a good correlation between simulations and measurements. The use of a single magnetic layer allows
doubling the inductance value in a planar inductor. For the sandwich inductor (coil between top and bottom
thick magnetic layers), it is possible to multiply the inductance by a factor high as the relative permeability μr of
the magnetic material.

An Energy Efficient Topology Augmentation Methodology Using Hash Based Smart Shortcut Links in 2-D Mesh |
||||||||
The Network-on-chip (NoC) paradigm was introduced as a scalable solution for on-chip
communication. NoC architecture can be designed as regular or application-specific network topologies.
Performance metrics based optimized designed can be achieved through application specific topologies while
less design time and efforts based NoC architecture can be achieved by using regular network topologies.
However, due to the lack of fast paths between remotely situated nodes, regular topology architectures for a
given routing methodology may suffer from long packet latencies and higher energy dissipation.............

Lightning mass casualty incident with a successful Triage Classification Competence of Emergency Medical Technicians under Taiwan's Fire Departments |
||||||||
When a disaster causes mass casualties, emergency medical technicians (EMTs) of the fire
department shall rush to the disaster scene in the first instance, and shall effectively implement triage
classification for large number of injured victims, so that the majority of injured victims can receive better
pre-hospital medical care. The most important job of emergency medical service (EMS) at the disaster scene
with mass casualties is to perform emergency triage classification, but the disparity in EMT triage classification
often becomes a hot issue that we care about............

Stationary Compression Ignition Internal Combustion Engines (CI-ICE) CO2 Capturing Via Microalgae Culture Using A Mini-Photobioreactor |
||||||||
This paper presents the development and analysis of a multigeneration system prototype associated with microal- gae culture for biomass production. The system was designed to recover waste heat from the compression ignition internal combustion engine (e.g., diesel engine) and to capture CO2 in its emissions for microalgae growth. Two algae species, Scenedesmus sp. and algae mixture from a local park in Curitiba, were separately cultured in a 20 L-jug by supplying two distinct CO2 sources: air and diesel engine emissions. Subsequently, microalgae growth rates were determined from absorbances and analyzed to construe whether emissions in lieu of air enhanced the microalgae growth. Similarly, mini-photobioreactor (mPBR) was employed to culture local algae mixture with air and emissions as CO2 sources, to assess the practicality of using mPBR for microalgae culture compared to traditional methods. In addition to microalgae culture............

Relationship Between Rainfall And Sediment Yield in Gubi Dam Reservoir, Bauchi State, Nigeria |
||||||||
Gubi Dam in Bauchi state supplies the city and its environs with potable water for consumption. The catchment area of the reservoir is exposed to soil excavations, high runoff due to high rainfall, crop farming and overgrazing by livestock. This exposure leads to sediment accumulation in the reservoir and subsequent reduction in storage capacity and ultimately, flooding. A model reservoir was installed across Rafin Kira, which is one of the nine tributaries of the dam. Sediment depths were measured and the values of the yield were related to daily rainfall depth in order to establish a suitable relationship between the two variables. Three basic models were used to simulate the realationship viz...........

Contributory Broadcast Encryption on Group key Agreement For key Distribution Encryption & Decryption |
Encryption is utilized in a communication system to secure information in the transmitted messages from anyone other than ye well aimed receiver. To execute the encryption plus decryption ye transmitter and receiver should have corresponding encryption plus decryption keys. For shipping precaution information to group needed broadcast encryption (BE). BE sanctions a sender to securely broadcast to any subset of members and require a trusted party to distribute decryption keys. Group key acquiescent (GKA) protocol sanctions a number of users to establish a mundane secret channel via open networks. Celebrating that a major destination of GKA for majority applications is to engender a confidential channel among group members, but a sender cannot omit any special member of decrypting ye cipher texts.............

Aug Reality |
The paper 'AugReality' introduces the technology of augmented reality for Android phones. This application is useful when the user is in a strange location. The system provides a user friendly environment with the location specific details. Augmented Reality (AR) is a live direct or indirect view of a physical, real-world environment whose elements are augmented (or supplemented) by computer-generated sensory input such as sound, video, graphics or GPS data. It is related to a more general concept called reality. In which the view of reality is modified (possibly even diminished rather than augmented) by a computer. As a result, the technology functions by enhancing one's current perception of reality

Stormwater Mitigation Analysis Using Roof Spray Technology |
||||||||
Stormwater mitigation has become a serious concern particularly in regions where the runoff can be
costly either through runoff damage such as erosion and/or the concerns of potential hazards to human and
animal life. A second and potentially more serious concern involves regions where this runoff is collected in the
standard sewage treatment system resulting in the need to handle an infrequent but large flow of water that most
of these systems are not equipped to handle. The consequences of these events often result in the dumping of
these overflows directly into local streams including the untreated sewage, increasing the potential of health
hazards.............
